HUNTINGTON BEACH NORTH

You know we had an airport
Built in nineteen ten?
If you'd been there lately
You'd remember way back when.

Three hundred & sixty houses now
Are built on airport's land.
We were sad to see the change
"That's Progress- you understand".

However, the grove of eucalyptus trees
Still stands - but in Norma's name,
Tells of butterflies which rarely come
Somehow, it's not the same.

Huntington Harbour was a swamp,
Wintersberg, Warner's name,
Celery and bean fields everywhere,
The coyotes we could never tame.

Our boys grew up in "countryville"
Still talk of those Happy Days
Of 4H Fairs, and friendly folk
Good memories - always!
