Steve's Place, Race Day 2000

24 kb. Flying Low

Race day starts out with an early morning "fly by".
Every Saturday morning we wait with coffee in hand
to wave as this pilot, sometimes in a group of airplanes
skim the desert floor with breath taking maneuvers.

Steve & Linda Pelletier:
All packed with water spray system, ice chest
with cold drinks, we are off to the races (to watch).

On the hillside overlooking just one leg of the 60 mile
loop. They (race buggies) will pass by here 4x.
We will stay here for a few buggies to go by before
we head over to the dry lake/finish line for a close up
look and T-shirt purchases.

George and John watch as the first buggy
comes into view, and they are really moving!

And there they go!

These roads, ( these are not roads, there trails!)
don't stop us from finding a good viewing point.

Well, we made it there and part way back when the
back tire blows. We head back to home, a little
slower than normal, but not much.

Back at camp.
Good thing these were old tires because by the time
we got back, it was shredded.
Boy, old tires are tough to got off the rim
with hand tools!
